River North SEO is a boutique Chicago SEO agency working exclusively with precision CNC machining shops and contract manufacturers. We chose this niche because the work is genuinely different, and because most agencies do not understand the difference between a tolerance callout and a terms of service page.
The story
Before starting River North SEO, I spent several years in the battery cell manufacturing industry on the SaaS side, working directly with manufacturing operations teams. I sat in facilities, learned how production environments work, and developed a genuine understanding of how engineers and operations managers think about problems.
That background made something obvious that most marketing agencies miss entirely. The people making purchasing decisions in manufacturing are not like consumers. They are analytical, skeptical, and technically sophisticated. They evaluate suppliers the way they evaluate components, with specific criteria, documented requirements, and zero tolerance for vague claims.
Generic SEO does not work for these buyers. A blog post about the benefits of CNC machining does not convince a procurement officer at an aerospace Tier 1 supplier. A capability page that specifies titanium Ti-6Al-4V machining to plus or minus 0.0005 inches with AS9100 Rev D certification, with documented first article inspection results, does.
